Wicklow Port is located on the East coast of Ireland, approximately 35 miles south of Dublin

Port Limits;     The seaward limits of the harbour are defined by a line drawn across the harbour entrance and a range 457m to  seaward of the outer breakwaters.

ISPS;           Fully Compliant.
Notification;     Vessels must give 24 hours compulsory pre-notification to agent prior to arrival. PFSD Contact is Harbourmaster Capt. J.M.Barlow.

Max Size;     Max length 100m (approx), Max draft 5.50m
Density;          Varies between 1012W at LW to 1025 at HW.
Restrictions;     Deep draft vessels must dock at HW (see Berthing).
Deep draft vessels lie safely aground at LW, the bottom consisting of soft mud.
Bridges;     None
Arrival; If pre-notification (ISPS Code) has not been received vessel must go to prescribed anchorage.
Pilotage;       Compulsory. Pilots can be arranged through the local agent or the harbour office. Pilots usually board about 3 cables north of the East Pier Lighthouse.
Anchorages; A safe anchorage can be found anywhere in Wicklow Bay, except in NE or easterly gales. A good anchorage can be found about 1 mile off the harbour entrance.
VHF;      Calling Ch 16, Working Ch. 14 or 02. Channels 6,7,8,26,27,and 28 are also available. Reception of port VHF only extends to about 20 miles offshore in a northerly and easterly direction and to about 10 miles offshore in a southerly direction due to signals being blocked by Wicklow Head.
VTS/Radar;     No port radar.
Tugs;          Tug “Kilquade” with a bollard pull of 5 tons available with 2 hours notice.(See About Us Page)
Approaches; Vessel turns inside the two piers in outer harbour prior to berthing.

Berthing;      
EAST PIER.        95m long, depths to 5.2m at HW, 3.1m at LW. Not often used as the pier is exposed to NE’ly  winds and is only 7.3m wide.
PACKET PIER.      93m long, depths 5.2m at HW, 3.1m at LW. Most used berth. Timber cargoes generally worked here.
NORTH QUAY.     130.1m long, depths 4.7m at HW, 2.8mat LW.  Paper, lead and general cargo is worked at the northern and southern end.
SOUTH QUAY.     126.22m long. Depths 4.9m at HW, 3.0m at LW. This quay is used for the import of plasterboard and general cargo.

Shore Gear used, Heavy lift crane available.

Hours:   Working hours 0800 – 1700. Overtime worked when required.
Ballast;       As advised by National Agency and to be advised by agent.
Pollution;      As per harbourmasters instructions.
Waste Disposal;      Skips are provided on the quay.
Slops Disposal;      Can be arranged through local agent.
Services ;      By contacting the agent all services are available. There is a waste oil disposal service. Nearly all services, like radio and radar repair, nautical publications, etc. are supplied from Dublin.
Repairs;    Only small repairs can be carried out.
Storing;     1.  Stored by truck
2. Barge storing at harbourmasters discretion.
3. Trucks can proceed alongside the vessel.
4. Forklift trucks can be used.
5. Normal Customs Regulations in Ireland. Consult local officer. 
6. Local people can be employed.
Medical;         Full medical facilities available. It is desirable to give advance notice of medical attention that may be required if possible.
Fresh Water;          Available at Packet Pier and North Quay. Only a small hose on South Quay.
Fuel;        Gas Oil is readily available and is brought to the ships by road tanker. Other types of fuel would  need to specially ordered.
